Maritime IT — FAQ
Can you install networks on active commercial vessels?
Yes — we design and configure rugged marine network setups using UniFi switches and compact access points. We work with marine electric installers to wire equipment that handles power fluctuations and harsh salt-air conditions.
How does maritime Starlink integration work?
We set up marine Starlink hardware combined with local firewall consoles that support dual-WAN failover (e.g. switching to cellular LTE when near port or satellite while at sea). We also restrict high-bandwidth traffic to ensure reliable operational data transmission.
How do you handle backups when vessels are out of cell range?
We install local, compact Synology NAS backups on the vessel. Computers backup locally over the ship's WiFi network. When the vessel enters cellular or high-speed satellite coverage, the NAS automatically syncs critical directories to the cloud securely.
Can you troubleshoot issues remotely while we are at sea?
Yes — as long as there is an active satellite or cellular link, our lightweight remote management tools let us log in and assist crew members, troubleshoot network drops, or update software configs in real time.
