Remote Operations
Secure Remote Work Across Alaska
Whether your team is working from home in Anchorage, a field cabin in Bethel, or a commercial vessel off Kodiak, we design and manage the remote IT systems that keep them secure, connected, and productive.
The Alaska Remote Workplace Stack
Four columns of our standardized remote deployment model.
1. Optimize Satellite Connections (Starlink)
Satellite links can experience momentary drops or latency spikes. We configure VPN and sync clients with generous retry timeouts to prevent connection drops from disrupting active files. We also set up local caching routers to save internet bandwidth.
2. Zero Trust Network Access (VPN-less Tunnels)
Traditional VPNs are slow and easily disconnected on remote links. We deploy Cloudflare Zero Trust tunnels, enabling employees to securely access corporate drives and files directly in their browser without requiring a heavy, battery-draining VPN client.
3. Safe Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Profiles
Many remote workers prefer using their own Macs or iPads. We configure Apple's native User Enrollment MDM, which creates a secure, encrypted storage container for work emails and files. Work files remain secure, and the employee's personal files remain private.
4. Cloud Collaboration Toolkits
We set up and administer Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, ensuring all email servers, calendar sharing, and cloud drives are correctly configured and secured with mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
